The Rainbow Report – Safe Schools Chosen as Beneficiary for the 2023 Florida AIDS Walk by AIDS Healthcare Foundation 🌈
We are thrilled to announce an incredibly exciting development for Safe Schools: our selection as a beneficiary of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) 2023 Florida AIDS Walk! This is a momentous achievement, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our team in supporting LGBTQ+ youth, educators, and parents.
The selection process for this prestigious recognition is notably competitive, and it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the LGBTQ+ community that Safe Schools has been chosen. We are deeply grateful to AHF for this opportunity to expand and enhance our impact.
This partnership with AHF and the Florida AIDS Walk comes with an extraordinary benefit: every dollar donated to Safe Schools will be doubled! This generous matching offer will significantly amplify the impact of every contribution, helping us to develop new and innovative programs for LGBTQ+ youth.
In a time where our schools are increasingly constrained in what they can teach, this support is more crucial than ever. We aim to fill these educational gaps with vital information about sex education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and the historical and ongoing struggles faced by our community in combating HIV. We are committed to reducing HIV transmission and new infections to zero.
The need for such education is urgent, especially in South Florida, which is experiencing alarmingly high rates of new HIV infections among young people. Innovative approaches are necessary to teach youth about the importance of safe sex, new medical advancements like Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and HIV medications, and the critical goal of maintaining an undetectable viral load when living with HIV, which effectively eliminates the risk of transmitting the virus.
At Safe Schools, we are dedicated to partnering with like-minded organizations in the fight against HIV, working towards a future where our community has triumphed over this challenge. We are excited to start forming our Florida AIDS Walk teams and will soon begin the registration process for the walk.
We invite you to join us in this critical mission – your support, whether as a donor, a team member, or a volunteer, will make a significant difference. Let’s work together to create a safer, more informed, and healthier future for our LGBTQ+ youth.
