We’ve Got a Haus!

Safe Schools South Florida just made a bold move. As of May 1st, we are officially the new proprietors of Undergrounds Coffeehaus, located at 3020 N Federal Hwy #5a, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306.

That’s right—this iconic, cozy, book-filled, tater-tot-serving, queer-loved coffee shop is now part of our family. And we’re not just serving drinks—we’re serving community.

What does this mean?
It means 3,000 square feet of vibrant, affirming space where young people can gather, grow, and get inspired. Whether it’s open mic nights, workshops, poetry slams, drag shows, support groups, or just a safe place to hang out—Undergrounds is now our creative playground.

And yes, HIV testing will be offered on-site—because health, safety, and community care go hand-in-hand.

We’re dreaming big here. This space will be open to the public (all ages welcome!), but it will also be a hub for the programs you love and new ones we’re just beginning to brew. We’re planning to employ some of the youth we serve, deepen our partnerships with Broward County Public Schools and Fort Lauderdale UCC, and build on the support of incredible allies like The Our Fund Foundation, Bears of South Florida, and Floatarama.

And don’t worry, Miami-Dade fam—we’re still here for you, too. This summer, we’re back at Florida Supercon, running their Pride Lounge, and kicking off our Hero’s Hangout series across South Florida. Plus, new hosts and shows are coming soon to Safe Schools TV.

So if you’re in Fort Lauderdale, come through. The Haus is open Tuesday through Sunday from 6pm to 11:30pm—and weekends from Noon to 1:30am.

This isn’t just a coffee shop. It’s a revolution in a cup. ☕🌈

Be Bold. Live Free. Stay Woke. Love All.
