Safe Schools Invests $20,000 in Scholarships to Empower LGBTQ+ Youth Leaders 🌈

Safe Schools was awarded a generous $10,000 donation from Miami Shores Pride at the recent Save Gala in a fantastic display of support and recognition. This substantial contribution underscores the community’s ongoing commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ youth and their educational journeys. We are excited to announce that these funds will be directly channeled into our scholarships, helping to foster the next generation of queer leaders.

At Safe Schools, we believe passionately that empowering LGBTQ+ students is not just about providing a safe learning environment; it’s about nurturing their potential to become influential change-makers in every sphere of society. Our students are not just participants in change but are at the forefront, leading the way to a more inclusive and equitable world.

Introducing the Robert E. Loupo, Jr. “Legacy of Change” Scholarship

In alignment with our mission, we are thrilled to launch the Robert E. Loupo, Jr. “Legacy of Change” Scholarship for 2024. Named in honor of our founder, this scholarship celebrates his visionary dedication to empowering LGBTQ+ students. This year, we are investing $20,000 in scholarships to support the education of queer students who are committed to making a difference.

The scholarships are structured as follows:

  • One $5,000 scholarship
  • Two $3,000 scholarships
  • Two $2,000 scholarships
  • Five $1,000 scholarships

A Commitment to Leadership and Visibility

Each recipient of these scholarships will also serve as a Safe Schools Ambassador for one year. This role is crucial; it involves representing Safe Schools and actively promoting our core values and mission. Through social media engagement and participation in both virtual and in-person events, our ambassadors will inspire others by sharing their stories and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.

How to Apply

The application period is open from May 4th to June 4th, with the winners to be celebrated at our SuperCon Ceremony scheduled for July 12th to 14th. This is more than a scholarship; it’s an opportunity to stand out and shine brightly as a beacon of hope and change within the community.
