A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Supporters and Allies

In a time when our communities face unprecedented challenges, support from organizations like The AIDS Health Care Foundation (AHF) and The Florida AIDS Walk (FAW) has never been more crucial. Their generous matched funds to our organization will ensure that we can continue our vital work with queer youth, their parents, and educators in a region with the highest rates of new HIV infections in the nation, particularly among the age demographics we serve.

These funds will enable us to strengthen our message, train educators, and guide parents on how to support queer youth effectively and keep them safe in a state that often fails to provide comprehensive sexual health education. In an environment where misinformation and stigma can run rampant, this support is a lifeline for many young people navigating their identities and health.

Marching for Change and Celebrating Our Heritage

We also extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who marched with Safe Schools at the Stonewall Pride Parade in Wilton Manors. Together, we stood as a collective of individuals who believe in creating a more inclusive and equitable future for all. Last night, Safe Schools, United Teachers of Dade, Broward Teachers Union, and the United Church of Christ in Fort Lauderdale illuminated the parade with their authentic selves. We celebrated 55 years since the Stonewall Riots, a pivotal moment when our queer elders courageously said no to oppression and injustice, sparking a movement that has shaped our ever-expanding rainbow alphabet.

We are Stonewall. And like Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, we refuse to be silenced or oppressed by those who cannot embrace authenticity and freedom.

The Importance of Pride and Continued Support

Pride is more than a celebration; it is a powerful statement of resilience and unity. In today’s polarized social and political climate, the importance of Pride cannot be overstated. It is a beacon of hope and a reminder of our progress and the work still to be done. Organizations like AHF, FAW, and all our allies who marched with us, play an essential role in this ongoing struggle. They provide the resources, visibility, and solidarity needed to navigate an increasingly uncertain future.

As we face growing hostility and division, the support and unity within our community become even more vital. Pride is not just about honoring our past but forging a path forward, ensuring that everyone can live freely and authentically. It is a call to action for everyone to come together, support one another, and work towards a world where equality, inclusivity, and justice are not just ideals but realities.

Thank you once again to AHF, FAW, and all our supporters. Together, we will continue to shine brightly, uphold the legacy of Stonewall, and fight for a future where every person is seen, valid, and loved.
