  • Policy Advocacy. Safe Schools South Florida works on policy advocacy initiatives with schools, school districts and government agencies.
  • Safe Schools Training Series. We work with school districts and communities to implement core training, containing the latest information on creating safer learning environments for LGBTQ youth and their allies.
  • Individual School Workshops. We work with school administration, counseling personnel and teachers to tailor programs to meet the needs of individual schools.

Gay Straight Alliances

A Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-initiated and student-run club in a public or private school. The goal of a GSA is to provide a safe, supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning (LGBTQ) and straight ally youth to meet and discuss sexual orientation and gender identity issues, and to work to create a school environment free of discrimination, harassment, and intolerance.
